PROJECT COORDINATOR, Nightwatchman, HIV Clinical Nurse, REGISTERED NURSE MIDWIFE and Data Clerk Positions.

Christian Health Association of Lesotho (CHAL) is a network of churches’ owned health

facilities including 8 hospitals, 71 Health Centres and 4 Nursing Training Institutions

throughout the country. It is constitutionally mandated to facilitate participation of Christian

churches in ensuring that the right to health for all is upheld to the highest quality. The

Association collaborates with various partners in delivering health care services to fulfil its

mandate and as such, implements various donor funded projects to promote good health for all Basotho. CHAL therefore, has entered into a consortium with EGPAF Lesotho to implement an ALPEC and EPIC projects that are implemented across the country to improve health outcomes through integrated HIV/AIDS, tubercolosis and other essential services. This project seeks to optimise clinical service delivery, strengthen health systems and to build the local capacity by providing the technical assistance to enhance ownership, accountability, resources mobilisation at the National and sub-national level.  CHAL therefore invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:  

PROJECT COORDINATOR X 1    To provide programmatic and implementation oversight for project activities for ALPEC. He/she will lead the coordination of CHAL’s work under the ALPEC project.  He/she is responsible for the ALPEC activities coordination, training, reporting, demand creation and the overall work plan. He/She will coordinate the mapping and planning of program expansion, considering different service delivery models in order to achieve the ALPEC targets. The Project Coordinator will report to Deputy Executive Director. Degree in Health Science with speciality in Public Health or any other related field plus seven (7) years’ relevant experience in HIV/AIDS prevention programmesKnowledge of basic project management tools is an added advantage.
REGISTERED NURSE MIDWIFE X 1 St Barnabas Health Centre    The Registered Nurse Midwife will provide comprehensive nursing and midwifery services at St Barnabas Health Centre, ensuring delivery of quality, patient-centered care in line with national clinical standards and CHAL guidelines. The role focuses on maternal, newborn, and child health services, as well as general nursing care within a primary health care setting. The incumbent will support integrated health service delivery, including HIV/AIDS, TB, and reproductive health services, while maintaining high standards of professionalism, ethics, and accountability. Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery. Registration with the Lesotho Nursing Council. Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in nursing and midwifery services. Experience in maternal and child health and primary health care settings is an added advantage.
Nightwatchman X 1 St Barnabas Health CentreThe Night Watchman is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, staff, patients, and property at St Barnabas Health Centre during night hours. The role involves monitoring movement within the facility, preventing unauthorized access, and responding promptly to security incidents, in line with CHAL policies and procedures. Minimum of Junior Certificate (JC) or equivalent. Previous experience in security services or a similar role will be an added advantage. Experience working in a health facility or institutional setting is desirable.  
HIV Clinical Nurse X 4  Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager in hospitals and Nurse Clinician in the Health centres, the HIV Clinical Nurse shall work with other health professionals in the HIV and/or MNCH clinics at their assigned facility to ensure integration of HIV and Cervical Cancer prevention, care and treatment program and clinical activities, manage the flow of HIV clinical services, and ensure that clients receive cervical cancer prevention screening and are referred to the arranged services in a timely manner. The HIV Clinical Nurse is responsible for ensuring the health facility works to increase the pace of HIV-positive client identification through HIV testing and counseling, enrollment into HIV care, ART initiation, and improved adherence on ART, prevention of Cervical cancer and retention in care. The HIV Clinical Nurse may also help the health facility improve the quality of HIV, PMTCT and other relevant services at their assigned health facility. Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery Registration with the Lesotho Nursing Council Experience in HIV/AIDS management, care and treatment is an added advantage  
Data Clerk X 2Working closely with the facilities’ Data Clerks, M&E officer and the health centre’s health care providers, the Data Clerk will handle the filing and maintenance of the patient medical records/charts of the HIV program at the health centre where they are placed.  Diploma in Statistics / demography or any other relevant fieldAt least 3 years’ experience, training in keeping medical records is an added advantage
